Yes, this was taken at the zoo today. I don't usually stumble upon sea lions in my backyard.

Project 365. Day 1.
So I've decided to start my own Project 365. I'll take one new picture everyday for the next 365 days. Which is too many. And may the photography gods smite me down with a lightning bolt if I skip a day.
I'll post them here each day, and on my Flickr as well.
So here's the first of many.

12 Years later...
Lets not get too deep into how awful a blogger I am. Again.
Lately, yes, I have been busy. And I'm sorry to say that Uncle Bob has slipped my mind.
I went up to Pittsburgh over the 4th and following week to visit our family. I only had internet access one night while there, so no, I didn't think of doing this. Haha :P
Summer has seriously flown by without giving me any mercy. I can't believe it's already the middle of July. It's ridiculous. I really haven't even done anything yet! I should be going on and on about my latest epical summer adventures. Unfortunately, I cannot pleasure your minds with any such tales. Yet. Hopefully by the end of August I'll have a few.
My design class at cpcc has two more weeks left, and I'm so enjoying it. I really think it's the best career for me. Next Monday we'll each get a different house plan, and we have to design the entire thing with fabrics, furniture, floors, walls, everything. I'm so excited; I can't even sit here and type this out without grinning to myself like an silly idiot.
The job hunt slowly continues... I'm going to apply at Old Navy and Barnes&Noble. Maybe Books-A-Million too, although the only one of those around here is in Concord Mills, and I'd rather not work in the mall. But whatever. If none of those produce any results I'll start applying at coffee shops. Yes, I do have a plan of action. I just need to get going on the action part. The sooner I get a job, the sooner I'll have some steady cash-flow. The sooner I have steady cash-flow, the sooner I can pay for my insurance and gas, and the sooner I can pay for those, the sooner I can go get my licence. Or, take the test. Hey, I'll get it eventually, right? :P
School creeps closer every day. Half looking forward to it though. I'll be doing some interesting things this year, so it should be kind of fun. Kind of. Maybe. If I'm lucky. Although, with my little Bethany going off to Queens Grant in the Fall, I'll be all by myself at home. I like the idea now, but I'm sure it'll get old realllll fast.
A few things I still want to do this summer include: Fishing, Hiking, Going to the seaside, Road tripping, Sleeping under the stars and /maybe/ finish a book. A short one.
Obviously, I could accomplish a few of these at once. Such as road tripping to the seaside, where I could hike, fish, and sleep under the stars. Hmmm.
I was going to add "Learn how to semi-play the guitar", but I doubt that will happen.
Oh, and boat-riding. Haha.
How are all of your summers going of late?

Poem, eh?
SHE WALKS IN BEAUTY - Lord Byron
She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climbs and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and brights
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellow'd to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impair'd the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling place
And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
That smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind of peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

Goose Feather.
I couldn't think of a decent or even vaguely interesting blog post to post.
So this shall have to be a boring update instead.
I'm furthering my education in design this summer/fall, as it is my career of choice. I'll be "following" a designer around for a day sometime during this or next week. She's an old family friend who's sorta a partner in my dads painting business, and owns a whole design company in Matthews, NC. I think I've met her once when I was really little, and although she reminds me of /the/ Paula Deen, I'm excited.
This summer (The end of June through July) I'm taking a design course at Cpcc, which is also taught by the previously-mentioned family friend. I fear I'm in danger of becoming the "teachers pet", because she's informed us that she'd get me in the class even if it was full, and that she'd drive me if I needed a ride. Keep in mind that I really don't know this woman at all.
My official course classes start this fall, and I still haven't purchased rubber cement yet...
Did you know that if you put lemon juice in your hair than sit out in the sun for a while it lightens your hair? I'll be back to dirty-blonde in no time. Haha. Although sunburn is a small consequence... it hasn't happened yet, but I'm sure it will soon.
My family and I are also going to Pittsburgh to visit family over the 4th, and I'm excited about that too. I treasure road-trips, and I'll be sure to take some pictures this time.
And lastly, my poor little iPod is out of space. All I have on it is music, and I've had to take some things off to fit more. I think I'm gonna have to look into getting a new one with more space... which means I'll have to spend money when I'm not making any...
Which brings us to the job-hunt topic. Yuck.

I changed it because it's my favorite color. That's why.
